Located in downtown Wildwood, Florida near award winning dining and quaint shopping, Gilded Matilda’s is a great place to bring out of town guests for a unique experience. Our reviews say it all:

In 2017, Gilded Matilda’s changed owners, began renovations, Sandy Sweeny has immersed herself in the artist marketplace. She grew up in Texas and started her career in sales, marketing, and advertising. She worked for one of the largest advertising agencies in the United States. Soon, Sandy went into business for herself, helping a local magazine with its launch. Sandy has 4 boys and 7 grandchildren.

Travel abroad has always interested Sandy and when the opportunity knocked to travel, she was excited to move to Ireland where she started a small jewelry business. A local shop allowed Sandy to put a few pieces and the demand increase until they were placed in retail stores. She also moved to China, Hong Kong, and Thailand where she sold many of her jewelry designs. Time there fueled her desire to work with those who are less fortunate in society.  Moving back to the states, Sandy found herself in Wildwood, Florida and her jewelry was accepted into Gilded Matilda’s.

Eclectic styles have always drawn Sandy to them and she is constantly creating her own DIY floral, furniture and art for her home. Her passion is for local artists, Sandy loves finding artsy, funky clothing and exploring local art markets wherever she is. When the idea of purchasing Gilded Matilda’s was presented, Sandy felt it was meant for her.

Sandy can see Gilded Matilda’s becoming a catalyst in downtown Wildwood, Florida that breathes new life into its revitalization process. Her Christian faith, family, and desire to give back to the community has always held a place in Sandy’s heart and she will continue to look for projects where Gilded Matilda’s can do just that!
